Article Seven: Senior Pastor

February 23, 2026 By Kevin Stone

The Senior Pastor is the chair of the Board of Elders, responsible for the effective daily operations of the church, and for the process of hiring and/or dismissing of staff members. When hiring or dismissing a staff member, the Senior Pastor must obtain 100% approval rating amongst the Board of Elders for the decision to hire and/or dismiss a staff member.

Although Chair of the Board of Elders, the Senior Pastor is co-equal in authority with the other members of the Board of Elders and will use his discretion on what is necessary to gain their approval for, if not clearly outlined in this Constitution.

In the event of a Senior Pastor vacancy the Board of Elders will secure a competent person to temporarily fill the pulpit while they design and begin a process to select a new Senior Pastor. Once a candidate is selected that individual shall be presented to a meeting of the members of NSC for introduction and interview. After two weeks have passed the Board of Elders will convene a specially called Congregational Meeting for confirming or rejecting the candidate. A positive percentage of 60% of the members present will signify confirmation.

Article Six: BOARD OF ELDERS

February 23, 2026 By Kevin Stone

The governing group for the congregation shall be the Board of Elders.

The Board of Elders are the spiritual leaders of the congregation, the directors of the ministry of the Church and responsible for the care of the Church’s members as outlined in the Bible. They are also responsible for deciding the Senior Pastors salary.

Additions to the Board of Elders will require a special meeting of the Board of Elders and a vote of the Board. A 100% approval rate must be secured to receive the candidate. Any candidate for this position must meet the qualifications of 1Timothy 3, and Titus 1.

If any member of the Board of Elders (including the Senior Pastor) fails to live up to Biblical standards for this position, that will be grounds for dismissal by a unanimous vote of the other members of the Board of Elders.

The number of members on the Board of Elders shall be at least three (3) and no greater than five (5) (including the Senior Pastor).

Online All Church Calendar Operating Procedure

February 23, 2026 By Kevin Stone

Calendar Management

The Office Manager is responsible for maintaining and updating events in the NSC All Church Calendar. Public events will be clearly marked as such and entered as early as possible, ensuring accessibility for the broader community.

Staff Access and Visibility

  • All staff have access to enter their own ministry events in the NSC All Church Calendar. If events are not for the general population but only for a small group (may include meetings, rehearsals, weddings, staff vacations or any other event all staff should be aware of but not intended for public view) – these entries will be noted as “private”.

Scheduling Protocol

Before scheduling your event and in order to prevent double bookings, staff must:

  1. Check the calendar to confirm availability of the desired date, time, and space
  2. Post event details including:
    • Event name
    • Date and time of Event
    • Set up/Clean Up time needed
    • Location within the church (choose a drop-down room)
    • Any relevant notes or setup needs
    • Events default to private – change to public if intended for anyone to see

If tech equipment/operator is needed for your meeting, you need to make a note on the calendar. AVL will reply with approval for space use.

Reminder: Cancelling or editing events that are Public should be done only under extreme circumstances and avoided as much as possible.

Facility Rental/Use Operating Procedure

February 23, 2026 By Kevin Stone

We do not allow use/rent of our facility to anyone who is not a regular attender or member in good standing of New Song. We may from time to time allow a funeral to take place for non-attenders. (Non-Member Facility Use Form)

We may charge a regular attender/member of New Song a facility rental fee when necessary (Member Facility Use Form) based on how much usage and what equipment/materials are needed or how much staff time is required.
