The officers of the church are Chairman (Senior Pastor) and Secretary Treasurer (assigned by Senior Pastor and confirmed by the Council).
With the approval of the Council the Senior Pastor may identify other official positions, delegate responsibilities to staff and Council members, and engage outside third party professionals and consultants as needed to fulfill the purposes of New Song Church.
All staff members serve at the pleasure of the Senior Pastor and their employment may be terminated after giving notice to the Church Council.
In a vacancy of the Senior Pastor a Council Member shall be confirmed by the other members as Chair Person until a new Senior Pastor is in office.

Serving in harmony with the Senior Pastor’s leadership the governing group for the congregation shall be the Church Council.
Potential Council members shall be nominated by a group selected for that purpose by the Senior Pastor.
Vacancies on the Council shall be filled by appointment by the existing Council and confirmed at the Annual Congregational Meeting.
The number of members on the Council shall be seven (includes the Senior Pastor).
Term for Council Members is two years. After three consecutive terms a Council member shall retire for at least two years.

The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the congregation, the director of the ministry of the church, Chairman of the Church Council, and responsible for hiring and/or dismissing staff members.
If there is a Senior Pastor vacancy the Church Council will secure a competent person to fill the pulpit until a new Senior Pastor is engaged by the Church.
In the event of a Senior Pastor vacancy the Church Council will design and begin a process to select a new Senior Pastor. Once a candidate is selected that individual shall be presented to a meeting of the members for introduction and interview. After two weeks have passed the Church Council will convene a specially called Congregational Meeting for confirming or rejecting the candidate. A positive percentage of 60% of the members present will signify confirmation. The term shall be for three years.

There shall be an Annual Congregational Meeting for the purpose of reviewing the previous year in the areas of (1) ministries (2) financial reports.
The Annual Congregational Meeting shall take place on or before February 28 in each calendar year. The date of the Annual Congregational Meeting shall be published in the weekly service program two weeks prior to the meeting.
Church Council positions shall be assigned by confirmation of the voting membership present at the annual congregational meeting.
Members of the congregation may nominate potential Council members by submitting the nomination in writing to the Senior Pastor one week prior to the annual meeting.
In the years when it is called for the Senior Pastor shall be retained for a new term of three years by confirmation of the voting membership present.
Special Meetings may be called as needed by (1) the Senior Pastor (2) Majority vote of the Church Council (3) twenty-five percent of the membership by signed petition. Special Meetings shall require the same two week notice as the Annual Congregational Meeting.
A quorum shall be defined as “the members who are present, at a normal time, in a regular meeting place, at a meeting that has been announced in accordance with this constitution.”

Members have the responsibility and opportunity to appear before the Church Council to express grievance and to vote in all congregational meetings.
